You know - this isn't some sort of wonkish abstraction.

The dead and injured are stacking up like cord wood. Besides the obvious social costs, there are the costs to pay for law enforcement, hospitals, morgues, etc etc etc.

The BULLSHIT justification for such self-serving behavior just makes it worse.
