I've been telling everyone I know this. It's disturbing how many people are buying into this idea, though, that we can all go back to business as usual if we...somehow...make sure all the mentally ill don't get any guns. Despite the fact that no one has been able to explain how that would happen without shredding the Constitution. It's of no concern. The 2nd amendment is, after all, the only part that is sacred, perfect, and utterly unchangeable. Forget all that bother about equal protection and due process. The important thing is to get back to selling as many guns as possible.

This really is one of the very worst cases of scapegoating I've seen in recent times, and it's eye opening to see how little people think of the rights and freedoms of the mentally ill. The mentally ill are indeed a very marginalized and stigmatized population. This recent debate proves it.
