In reply to the discussion: cory booker is actually A TOTAL SELL OUT [View all]battchief
(5 posts)Booker is a fraud. Google David Giordano, the high school educated, former fire director, who listed "little league MVP" on his official biography, and little else.
Giordano got caught retiring one day and being hired as a "consultant" to the Booker administration the next, becoming Booker's "$206,000 man". Booker couldn't take the heat and decided to let him go. Giordano went to they mayor's office and, by all accounts, threatened him, in an obscenity laden tirade, that he would tell where the bodies were buried. Booker relented and kept him in his $83,000 a yr. job, with official car and free gas. He's also the guy who spent 18 yrs. on paid leave as a union official.
He also created an entire bureaucracy; multiple layers of staff, cars and expense, for another "ally", Anthony Campos, who had to have a job with prestige, even though all Booker had to do was give him his old job, for less money (savings). He had to reconfigure the entire city organization to create this bureaucracy, because state law didn't allow for it. Today, this "essential" department no longer exist, because Campos went back to his old job anyway. For two years, though, the city had to support a "Department of Public Safety" so that Campos' political allies would be assuaged that he had an important enough position. Booker has raised taxes something like 30+% in a little over 4 yrs. Fiscal management was a joke with overtime, for those politically favored, sky rocketing to over 30% of salary.
So for Booker to loudly declare "I'm a job cutter, too", which he also said, bragging about the "25%: (1000jobs) he cut, is extremely offensive to all the $20-30,000 a year employees he let go to keep his political ambitions afloat. It's "crap" and "nauseating". He could have kept 20-30 secretaries and clerks, with children and families, working for the $3-400,000+ that went to Giordano and Campos for busy work.
Booker is hedging his bets in case Obama loses. Why else do you attack the multi-million dollar strategy of the sitting head of your party, especially given that Romney's Bain record IS at issue? No one said he shouldn't make money. We question his record of being a "job creator" only because he brought it up; because Romney believes "corporations ARE people".
Booker is a self-appointed arbiter of political currency, just as he's a self-anointed "hero".
