(26,535 posts)40. No acorns is not a good sign at all.
That happened in West Tn about 8 or 9 years ago. It was the summer the high temps really kicked in. My then 80 yo father said he'd never seen that happen before. Our trees here have huge acorns this year, so I've seen some pretty fat and industrious squirrels. Saw a mama deer with her twins in my backyard yesterday.
We've been renovating and packing for the last few months, so I barely know my name, but I sure have missed seeing the colors along I 40.
Thanksgiving always meant a trip to Grandma's with my brothers going hunting very early in the day. Surprised everybody the year they actually got a deer....they always blamed their bad luck on squirrel chatter.
