The majority of Dems support Hillary Clinton, and one can't say that she's likely to push for Universal Health Care. Her supporters on DU deride the notion as impractical, impossible, the tea party would never allow it - and all negotiation must be with the right, the Republicans, and no heed need be paid to the left. It seems to me that few US Americans even understand the concept, the practical implications in terms of an universal increase in well-being.

Trudeau is third-way lite. If one looks at his support for the TPP, which one has to admit is a third-way masterpiece, Trudeau will be with Hillary and the corporate brigands she hangs with. But if one looks at e.g. his vow to disengage Canada militarily from US adventures in the Middle East, he won't be at third-way Hillary Clinton's side when she assumes power and there's the inevitable escalation.
