Far too many of the developmentally disabled are literally zonked on drugs. They can't learn, they can't function, they simply shuffle from place to place.

This is being done for two reasons. On the corporate side of the equation, this practice makes big bucks for Big Pharma. On the caregiver side, this makes it easier for caregivers to control their charges. Rather than sitting down and trying to understand and deal with the problems of these people, far too many simply want to dose them up and go on.
