(16,357 posts)66. I had the same problem, it tried to keep
downloading and I kept stopping it. Went all the 'help' sites to see what secrets they might have, no help. I spent two days trying to outsmart the damned thing and finally beat it! What I finally did was 'hide' it on the download menu, closed the menu, reopened it and TAH DA, it was gone. Two days I'll never get back, but, no windows 10 either.

It cost me a few bucks, but my computer guy got it back and also cleaned the computer.

The problem is you must have automatic updates set, and Microsoft automatically pushed the windows
