First Batch Of Clinton Emails Since Benghazi Testimony To Be Released [View all]

WASHINGTON — The State Department is due Friday to release the first round of emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server since she testified last week in a marathon hearing before the House Benghazi panel.

Like previous downloads, it's unlikely they'll illuminate much beyond the minutiae of her daily interactions with staff, lawmakers and outside supporters during her tenure as secretary of State. Friday's batch is the latest in a series of monthly releases of Clinton's emails that will continue until January of 2016 in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

The House Select Committee on Benghazi has already vetted the messages related to their inquiry into the 2012 attacks on the U.S. embassy in Libya, which was the impetus for the email release.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is also examining Clinton's private server to see whether government information was mishandled.
