1. My husband had to fight for his right to vote

His work is having a long after-work meeting today, and he mentioned to his boss, "did you forget it's Election Day?" Oops. They didn't change the meeting but are letting people take long lunches to vote. Not all employers would do even that. It's this kind of crap (weekday voting, long commutes) that helps keep the Repugs in power, as the usually-conservative retired folks have all day to vote.
I'm really proud of DH for speaking up.
