Ben Carson to Target Black Voters With Rap Song: ABC [View all]

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson on Friday will begin running radio ads targeting black voters with a rap song, ABC News reports.

The $150,000 buy will air the ad in Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Birmingham, Jackson, Memphis, and Little Rock for two weeks, according to ABC.

“This happens to be a group that we feel pretty strongly is ready and prepared to start working for Ben Carson,” spokesman Doug Watts said, according to the report.

Carson is not the first candidate to employ rhymes on the campaign trail. Former Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry launched his campaign with a rap/country fusion number.
