9. If you use propane, you may as well just put it in the oven

I use lump charcoal when using my Weber and wood when using my smoker. Starting my 12th year as a certified BBQ judge and those two items (charcoal & wood) are all the competitors are allowed. You can use propane, just don't call it BBQ.
