(19,537 posts)I think many of them know that Republicans especially Teapublican crazies that are running now with the remnants of that parthy will not win the White House. And therefore they in effect WANT a Republican nominee that too many are afraid of winning the presidency as a way to champion their "choice" of who they push money to in the Democratic Primaries as being the only candidate to keep us from disaster if the Republican wins.
Money is now behind Clinton in this regard, as they don't control the top two like they did in 2008 when they owned both Clinton and Obama then, and at least probably "owned" Edwards' message to try and draw away progressive votes in to a sink hole that they would have tanked when they had him pull out of the race right before Super Tuesday, rather than giving anyone besides Obama or Clinton more air time in subsequent debates after it got to be a three person race when the primaries started.
Now they know that they can't control the candidates that will be running until the end, when the number one contender to Hillary is Bernie who they don't control like they did Obama in 2008. As long as Bernie is a threat, I'm thinking they are trying to use a fear card by painting a real bad possibility of a Republican nominee, rather than a "beatable" traditional Republican nominee, which might lead many to take more of a chance on voting for Bernie from their point of view.
Be afraid! BE VERY AFRAID! That is the big money donors' message now!
