(5,141 posts)What if someone like the WHO is about to come out with a list of carcinogens which absolutely cause cancer (not as tentatively as they suggested with beef - - something more hardcore) and are regular additives in food AND that these big food processors knew about for years? Think tobacco, that sort of thing. Or that theyve actually traced the uptick in autism and its not vaccines but some kind of hormone they use in pig farming or cows or something.
Forgive me if Im starting to sound like I listen to Alex Jones but I dont trust these big corporations as far as I can throw them. I just cannot believe this is some sort of we heard you consumers...you may be right, it may be because theyve lost market share and are re-thinking their business model but I just think these corporations wouldnt suddenly be listening to peoples concerns about food if it contradicted their bottom line. Oh sure, maybe theyd offer gluten free options and the like but I dont think theyd change their tried and true formulas just to appease some latte-sipping Volvo drivers who shop in the healthfood store. And like Jeff47 suggested above, people really dont know all that much about biology...i dont think it would occur to *most* people to question what is in their food to begin with.
