DU'er Prophet 451 has passed away. [View all]

It was sudden and shocking, but painless--Nick stopped breathing in his sleep and his long-time life partner found him a little while ago. The paramedics tried to revive him, but he was already gone. Right now she is trying to cope with the grief and panic of the immediate moment. They are British, and they did not have much income. I think Nick was receiving some sort of disability pension.

He was my friend for many, many years even before I found DU. His partner is a dear friend too. Please keep her and his family in your thoughts. He will be missed more than I can even express.
