The rain has started to turn to ice. We are leaving in an hour for our 8 mile drive to dinner.

Omaha and its neighbors in eastern Nebraska and western Iowa will be under a winter storm warning Thursday.
Rain changing to a freezing rain-sleet mix and finally to snow is forecast throughout Thursday and Thursday night over parts of the two states, according to the National Weather Service office in Valley.
Its the icing that were most concerned about, said Becky Kern, a meteorologist at the weather service.
Southeast Nebraska and southwest Iowa should see significant icing amounts, Kern said, with parts of northeast Nebraska getting up to 1 inch of snow.
