Please help me understand my CT scan [View all]
Hi there,
First of all, I am NOT asking for a diagnosis and I release the DU and its members from any liability. All decisions made are mine and mine alone.
That said, I had a CT scan a few weeks ago and looks like I have a 10mm kidney stone. It's not painful but it does have to go. That's fine. But there were 2 other "findings" that the doctor said not to worry about but I'm seeing specialists about them anyway:
1. Stable left lower pulmonary nodules measuring up to 3mm. Stable back to 2010 scan.
Could this be scar tissue from pneumonia?
2. Stable 18x9mm area of soft tissue density in the left lower quadrant along anterior peritoneal surface of uncertain significance. Where is this??
What concerns me is that I had a carcinoid 30 years ago (2mm submucosal, benign) and my father had a 5mm blockage (carcinoid) in his intestine. Apparently these things haven't grown.
Any thoughts on what type of doctor I should see? The first would be a pulmiologist and I'm seeing one in January, but the other issue I'm stumped. My doctor suggested my gynecologist but I'm not sure.
Thoughts?
Thanks
