(18,318 posts)was followed by both Gandhi and King in their political movements. Both, however, warned against passive inaction in the face of violent threats to themselves, family, and property. They called for active resistance to these threats, even if one's own life is sacrificed in the process. Doing nothing was termed "cowardice" by Gandhi. Both preferred violent action to doing nothing when personally (as described above) attacked. Their's is an honorable position.
I continue to hunt dove, waterfowl, deer, squirrel, etc. I'll accept the inadequate term "blood sport" (somehow, using hunting and tennis under the same heading of "sport" seems far-fetched), but it is not "blood lust." Being up to my elbows in a deer's steaming blood while field-dressing is not the most appealing task when hunting. A wanton killer of any sort might fall under the Lust category.
