need thinning or that some family does not need the food.
I live where the deer are all around us and in bad years they are starving. Not just one but the entire herd because there is not enough food for all of them. They are healthier if that does not happen. That is why the Department of Natural Resources determines the number of licenses given out each fall. Good years allow the herd to increase in size which endangers them even more when the bad comes.
As for food? Most of the families living around us are low-income so they do need the food. But of course they should use food stamps to buy what you want them to eat.
DU is really showing their stripes this week.
