(16,988 posts)67. I'm an EMT and have been a first responder in the past.
I never did anything remotely heroic, but I can only imagine. When I was in school for my EMT we spent half a class listening to the 911 recordings of the Aurora shooting. You know when the FRs arrived they had no idea what exactly they were dealing with and it was pretty disorganized. Then, you could hear the event unfolding through dispatch, the gravity of it. It was both horrifying and fascinating to study.

Honestly, I can think of any number of reasons encryption would be a good idea.
