I was monitoring the live Twitter feed during the attacks and Farouk's name was mentioned very early on. So, someone on the inside let someone on the outside know who it was and then that person (or the original source) either posted his name to Twitter (or some other social channel). And it was even suspected to be a hoax name before it firmed up as fact.
