Trump calls for Macy’s Christmas boycott [View all]

Donald Trump is urging supporters not to do their Christmas shopping at Macy's in retaliation for the department store dumping his signature business clothing line.

“Good news, disloyal Macy’s stock is in total free fall,” Trump said in a Facebook post on Friday, accompanied by the company’s stock chart. “Don’t shop there for Christmas!”

Macy’s in July decided to drop Trump’s merchandise in response to controversial comments he made about Mexican immigrants, calling them "killers and rapists" in his campaign launch speech.

“In light of statements made by Donald Trump, which are inconsistent with Macy’s values, we have decided to discontinue our business relationship with Mr. Trump and will phase-out the Trump menswear collection, which has been sold at Macy’s since 2004,” the company said in a statement at the time.

“We do not believe that disparaging characterizations portray an accurate picture of the many Mexicans, Mexican Americans and Latinos who have made so many valuable contributions to the success of our nations."

The hubris of this guy never ceases. Next week I'm going to NYC to see the Macy's Christmas windows. I'll make sure to buy something. I already spent money there on Black Friday, but I'm sure that I'll find something else to buy.
