4. looks like Hayes dodged a career bullet.

The guy is too smart for his own good. He hosts whats is probably the most informative and hard hitting 4 hours of mainstream news media a week (no wonder its relegated to early weekend mornings). I'm sure that he has many enemies who would love to use his original statement to end to his threatening venue for thoughtful and critical analysis.

I wasn't confused. I knew damn well that he had not the slightest intention of dishonoring those who serve(d). Personally I agree with his original sentiments, and wish he didn't have to apologize to a vocal, oversensitive, manipulative, jingoistic segment of war-salesman. When they carelessly and effortlessly toss about the term 'hero', then it is they who diminish the achievements of true heroes.
