38. Texas would become a failed Hills Have Eyes nation, with raiding parties crossing to border states.

When was the last time anyone gave the republicans something they asked for, and they were satisfied with it?
Once they have Texas, they'll be waging war on other states to take them over. And their citizens will become desperate, feral marauders. Just like their existing republican politicians are today.
