21. Hate crimes in the USA

Are overwhelmingly committed against the 1.7% population of this country that is Jewish. I think roughly 50%.

Yes, some are KKK types, but mostly it comes from Muslims or blacks, both of which populations have been surveyed and reveal tremendous anti-Semitic beliefs.

There is not a week that goes by when I am in a big city and don't get a cat call ("F---g Jooooo" or the like), a hard shoulder, a shove, or the equivalent, especially on a subway.

Last week, a Jewish shop keeping was beaten within an inch of his life, randomly, in NYC by a passing Muslim man. The crime? Being Jewish.

Not long ago, I was pumping gas into a rental car when a black youth leaned out of his car and threw a red slurpee out the window all over me, cat calling "Joooo." I got the joy of flying across the USA covered in red goop and had to throw my overcoat away.

And don't get me started about the lies about Israel routinize posted as truths here on DU. If it was any group other than Jews being lied about, the posters would long ago been banned.

So, yes, there is a problem with antisemitism in this country. And it's not "micro" aggression, either.
