In reply to the discussion: Jews gather nationwide on Chanukah to challenge Islamophobia and racism [View all]politicman
(710 posts)You are equating Trump standing before a room full of Jewish people and trying to crack some jokes as on the same scale of racism and bigotry as Trump saying that he wants Muslims to wear something that identifies them as Muslim etc.?
In that link you provided Trump tells the audience that they won't give him their money because they can't control him, and the first thing that you and people like you ascribe it to is anti-Semitic trope and Jews being called Shylocks??? Really????
When we are in a climate where everyone and his dog knows that wealthy donors mostly donate to politicians as an attempt to control them and Trump has said this very thing not only to a room full of Jewish people but anyone that will listen throughout the country.
So Trump or some other politician can say something like this to anyone else and it seems like a reasonable comment to make, but when he or someone else says that very same thing in front of Jewish people it suddenly takes on a different meaning and becomes anti-Semitic?
Wow, talk about clutching at straws, people like yourself will point to anything and claim anti-Semitism simply to act like Jewish people in the U.S have to face the same kind of national bigotry that other minorities face.
Its a disingenuous argument and you should really wake up to how shameful that is.
