In reply to the discussion: Jews gather nationwide on Chanukah to challenge Islamophobia and racism [View all]politicman
(710 posts)Wow, this is what I am talking about when I say that certain people will jump on absolutely nothing and interpret as anti-Semitism to advance their agenda of acting like people of Jewish faith can ever be criticised on a national level the way other minorities are.
1) Trump was standing in front of a room full of Jewish republicans, he obviously thought it was important enough to address them to win their support, that right off the bat is a presidential hopeful trying to pander to Jewish people rather than advocate against them.
2) Trump made a comment that the people in the room wouldn't support him because he doesn't want their money, and somehow certain people interpret that as anti-Semitic because the room was full of Jewish people. Haha
Never mind the fact that Trump has made this same remark or similar remarks to many other audiences and to anyone in the country that will listen.
It's funny how when he says it in front of another audience its taken as Trump saying he can't be controlled by wealthy donators, but when the audience is Jewish this remark is taken as an anti-Semitic trope by interpreting it as Trump calling Jews 'Shylocks'.
How fucking disingenuous is that argument!!!!!!
3) Lastly Trump talks about how Israel the country needs to make sacrifices if it wants peace with the Palestinians seeing how Israel is in the drivers seat, and certain people want to claim that as anti-Semitic? Really?
Make up your minds, either Jewish people are different from Israel or Jewish people are one and the same as Israel.
Because every single person on earth knows that U.S politicians understand that severely criticising Israel for its transgressions is a death sentence for any future elections.
