In reply to the discussion: Jews gather nationwide on Chanukah to challenge Islamophobia and racism [View all]stevenleser
(32,886 posts)I would prefer not to see those here on DU than to have to point them out.
Bluenorthwest did a very good job pointing out the problems in your posts. Bringing up AIPAC in this discussion was one of them. AIPAC has nothing to do with the fact that well over half the religious bias crimes in this country are committed against Jews. You also equated Jews with Israel, which I have only seen from folks who are biased and harbor a lot of resentment against Jews.
I am Jewish and against Israeli policy toward the Palestinians and have been that way for around a decade now. That position is pretty widely held among American Jews even though we may not be a majority. You cannot equate Jews with Israel and Israeli policy anymore than it would have been fair to equate you with the policies of George W Bush.
You may want to claim that folks are making something out of nothing but your posts are filled with all kinds of indicators of what your true feelings are. And it begins with your desperate struggle to try to convince folks that bias and prejudice against Jews is just not that big of a deal here in the US. It completely reminds me of folks on the right who say that racism just isn't that big of a deal and homophobia isn't that big of a deal. I see folks saying any of those things and it's clear what they are about.
