(1,557 posts)all four of his siblings, my father-in-law (Vietnam), my father, my paternal grandfather, (WWII), his father (Spanish-American War), a paternal second cousin and two maternal uncles, one with Purple Heart and Bronze Star with Valor, plus an uncle by marriage (WWII), a paternal great uncle and paternal great-grand uncle (WWI), paternal 2nd and paternal and maternal 3rd great-grandfathers, and several 3rd great-grand uncles (Civil War, both sides), paternal 2nd great-grandfather (Mexican-American War ), maternal 5th great uncle, paternal 3rd great-grandfather, with Jackson, and maternal 4th great-grandfather (War of 1812), and 13 ancestors who fought in the Revolutionary War, one with the Green Mountain Boys and one with Washington, and there's one French and Indian War veteran as well. Oh, and one of my earliest ancestors in Virginia was a captain in the British Army. Those are the ones I know of.
