Central Florida's State Attorney's Offices need a redo. [View all]

Looks like others see it too. And if they can't protect us on the big things and they're surely not protecting us on the political "nuisance" crimes, then they're surely not protecting us at all:

Ryan Williams: Lawson Lamar's office bungled Jesse Davis' cases

Overwhelmed prosecutors bungled a case that should have sent a violent felon now accused in the Cady Way double murder to prison, but instead allowed him to go free, Orange-Osceola State Attorney candidate Ryan Williams claims.

The score sheet failed to note Davis' complete prior criminal history and did not include any crimes involving firearms, two important things Williams said could have changed the outcome. Two psychiatrists who examined Davis, a mental health patient with a history of schizophrenia and delusions, came to different conclusions about his sanity.

"This tragedy was an institutional failure, not the result of any one person's actions," said Williams, who left the Orange-Osceola State Attorney's Office last year to pursue candidacy.

"Insufficient experience caused by the office's high turnover prevented these prosecutors from knowing a dangerous individual when they saw one."
