My family and friends represent the entire spectrum of ideas and opinions. Not a one of my huge clan agrees with another. But when we engage it's a good exchange that comes from a mutual respect. Eye to eye promotes a sense of personal responsibility for your language and attitude. Needless to say, even on opposite spectrums politically, everyone takes away a better understanding of the other. No need to spar. Or insult. Always a net positive even when no minds are changed.
Not so on the the Internet. Not so on DI. Just the way they called out Trumad with such hateful language turns me off.
Not everyone needs to war with total strangers because of political differences. I'm glad DI is there and it serves a purpose. Just not for me.
