I laid out a lot of the connections in a thread a few days ago. See my posts starting at http://www.democraticunderground.com/1251920336#post33 and then my own responses below it.

These ties to the Fanjuls and their lavish donations give DWS enormous power in Florida -- and Florida is viewed as a swing state that could help determine the outcome of the 2016 election.

And for what it's worth, the Clintons and the Clinton Foundation have also been recipients of Fanjul largesse.
