Radio Netherlands, VOA and a few others. From the age of 11, I never believed anything I heard at face value. I just juggled everything I heard and my a good guess as to what was going on. I worked after school at the local newspaper and learned that a rich person was never in the news for DWI or beating the wife or kids. I knew they were never arrested when they would run over people. I knew when election came about and the black precincts always voted for the white and never blacks and when 1500 would vote in their precinct and only 400 ballots were totaled. I saw very little different between us and soviet states. Rich people controlled everything and the poor people did not.
