48. Glad I trusted my instincts

Dec 2015

Been wanting to buy a new laptop for a year or more, but was waiting for Win 10 to be released etc.I buy few electronics, so didn't really know what I wanted and where to buy.

The one that fit my needs and budget was a Lenovo, and when searching for the best price, I was surprised to see that all the on line retailers like Amazon, B & H Photo, Adorama, Best Buy etc were within $25, except Tiger Direct (who I was not familiar with), which was $100 cheaper than all the rest and had it in stock. Usually that sets off warning signs, so I did some research and saw that Tiger had lot of complaints for back ordering and late shipping. Since I wanted instant gratification, I was hesitant to order, but the $100 was a decent amount of money.

Saw that Best Buy had a price match policy with selected competitors including Amazon and Tiger Direct! Even though I had to order on line and pay sales tax (which is OK with me since it funds state government) I still was more comfortable knowing they had a brick & mortar location in my town in case I ever had issues. Best Buy priced matched with zero issues, and it arrived just 3 days later. After seeing all the issues the OP had, I feel fortunate I did what I did. Only have had it two days, but love the Lenovo so far!

Had a publisher of periodical send me a renewal just few weeks before they shut down one time. Even though it was only $50,I was angry for a while. Feel bad for the OP as I know how he/she feels even though it is a lot more $$$. Hope it gets resolved.
