(23,867 posts)Not only do my parents own a vineyard, but a friend is now a managing engineer at the Sonoma water district. I never liked wine, and don't even like alcohol anymore. It's not good for humans. But that's unimportant. What is amazing is how powerful some of the big water users are. Within minutes of any change in water situations, these owners are all over the politicians. They have to have them on speeed dial. Meanwhile, regular users are being told they have to curb their consumption. And the vineyards are using HUUUUUGE amounts of water.
I like private ownership. I'm about to go on a walk on my own property. It's nice to own things. But when it impacts the Hmm, I'm contradicting my original post on the op. I better go walk. My old dad has told me for years "Rome's always burning".
