(4,762 posts)In order for them to use snow for water, hunt for food, or access (safely stored) fuel, they need to leave a building surrounded by armed agents. How's that going to work then? How are they going to get out far enough to bag deer, put down arms long enough to field dress them, get them back (with no ATVs) to the building, etc?
No way 20 guys brought in enough food and fuel to last more than a couple of weeks. And if they are storing any significant quantity of fuel inside that building then we could well have Waco II here if a shot is fired at all.
They're not afoot in the wilderness as I understand it. They are holed up in what amounts to a large cabin approachable by road and with cleared areas (and parking lots) around it. They can't be allowed to leave the cabin and return.
My preferred solution involves a firehose down the chimney or through a window, get everything inside nice and wet, and turn off the power and light. 6 or 8 hours later you'll have control of a bunch of freezing souls at 10 degrees outside. They'll either come out on their own or be half out of it when you storm the place. No one needs to die, but a few fingers and toes might pay the price.
