Residents of Harney County are poor, white, and conservative. Not a single one of them has joined the Bundy brothers' armed occupation.

Burns, Oregon—Stretching across 188,000 acres of low-slung scrubland in southeastern Oregon, the Malhuer National Wildlife Refuge is home to more than 320 species of birds and, as of this writing, an armed group of self-styled militiamen.
