I mean, we knew that in 2000.
But when they did the bailout thing, Bush wisely (not two words I usually put together
) told McCain that he didn't want to get involved because that would politicize the bailout and make it more likely to fail --McCain wanted the White House meeting.
So they had the meeting that McCain wanted, at the White House, and Obama ran the show and McCain was a nonentity. Bush and his crew actually were relying on Obama before he was even president, to help get something going.
