The Ryan-Munster and Rubio-Batboy comparisons do nothing for me. That Cruz looks like Joe McCarthy is more interesting because it resonates with his political views. A few of the Christie fat jokes are funny but the whole subject is way overdone. (I was disappointed when Letterman did a Top 10 about Christie and every single one was a fat joke. From that source I expected more creativity.)

I almost never watch SNL so I don't know what kind of jokes they've made about Clinton. I did see Larry David's impression of Sanders and I thought that that, like Tina Fey doing Palin, went way beyond a feeble joke about a candidate's ears.

Years ago I read the comment that LBJ was probably our last ugly President. You're right that I'm not running for POTUS, but it's sad that quite a few potential leaders are out of consideration simply because of their appearance.

FWIW, here's the one Christie joke I remember laughing at. A comedian was speaking at a dinner where Christie was present, when the GWB scandal was more in the news, and he said something along these lines: "Governor, I have size jokes and bridge jokes. Which do you want? Or I could do some of each -- you know, sort of like a combo platter."

That one is, to some extent, a joke about fat jokes, and it appeals to my appetite liking for self-referential humor.
