I had one experience with the great one. Sometime in the early 70's, the Ziggy Stardust tour most likely but I will be darned if I actually can remember, I was out in Kansas City with some friends. I don't know what we were doing, probably just going places and hitting bars for fun but we happened to be in Crown Center. I was just blasted silly by that time, the place was roiling with people but I have no idea why we were there. I walked around the corner and slammed right into the Glitter King. I looked up and he smiled and went on. My friends were standing there, or sort of standing there, staring and we all laughed and went on. He had a huge entourage but back then nobody really worried much I guess because he was out in front and they were behind, people were all over the place but nobody said a word.
I am so very sad about this this morning. Tears came when I read this. He was and will remain one of the greats. His influence was important in many ways and I did enjoy him and all his stages.
