In fact, there is at least one other person in my very neighborhood with exactly the same name. If I took the proper precautions and left town for awhile I could fly under the radar indefinitely. I think the reason lottery winners get pestered by all those long-lost "relatives" and "friends" is that they don't have experience with having a lot of money so they don't know how to lay low - they'll throw their money around too much and try to manage it themselves. "Old money" types have their people who manage it for them and can screen out the scammers and leeches. A lot of lottery winners end up broke in a few years because they don't know how to handle so much money.

I will know better. I've got it all figured out; I'll be fine.
