10. It surpassed NY in population. Maybe they had an idiot migration.

Seriously, though, it's not that Florida has a worse or better crime rate than any other state. It's more the comedic nature of some of these crimes that make them newsworthy.

Or it could be that Florida is ranked 49th in mental health funding among the 50 states and they have an open records policy . . .
