It is definitely not the best system but it helps millions of people. What you suggest is exactly that, cutting off the nose to spite the face. This also proves how reckless the unrealistic populism of Sanders is to progressives. We definitely need single payer but it will not be accomplished under the current political climate where republicans only fight for regression. We will need a much weaker republican party and a cultural shift towards the greater good. This country is currently too greedy to accomplish any of this.
