and confirms my suspicion that person as well as a few others are DU's actual malicious intruders. Somehow they made it past MIRT and have BECOME MIRT. They are now in a position to decide who gets to stay and who has to go when a newbie first signs up. That's a tremendous amount of power entrusted by the owners. I take that responsibility seriously and have been very mindful of not allowing biases to control my decisions when agreeing to ban someone.

Unfortunately, on a few occasions, I've seen a handful of people (the same ones every time) swarm a newly signed-up Bernie supporter, and they all agree with each other and say that person is a troll. Several others have disagreed and were able to stop the, shall we say, process.

Those two comments tell you all you need to know about what is happening here. They describe exactly what I'm seeing in MIRT and am actually stunned that the owners don't do something about this and restore a little dignity and respect to the place. They're letting these people destroy what was once a great place to come, and I'm sure driving people away in droves. They're drunk with the power given to them, and running roughshod over long time, decent members. How on earth can that be good for business? It's foolish to think members will just hang around and take that kind of abuse.

When they go there and begin to mock dead DU'ers and mock disabled DU'ers, it's past time to fucking do something.

OmahaSteve, I can't express how very sorry I was to see you mocked by these people. My father is also suffering from dementia, and for one to berate someone with ANY disease, has to be completely deranged. And California Peggy, one of the sweetest ladies on the entire internet and someone I consider a dear friend, doesn't deserve this kind of ridicule. It's getting embarrassing to be a member of this dank place.
