(2,535 posts)Being a farm kid it was dual purpose. I used it to help with the farm work, take me and my brother and sister to school and Saturday night date truck.
Someone had a 1963 Chevy about a year ago and it brought back memories about how I would pull 2 cotton trailers with about 5 raw bales to the cotton gin. I am amazed today how we got so much done with a 292 cubic inch engine.
I bought my last pick up truck 8 years ago and will never buy another on. The new ones are too damn tall to get in and out of much less get a shovel or whatever out of the back. At my age it would get vert tireing having to climb in the back to get something I need to use.
The government is the reason the are so damn tall. Many years ago, the government passed a law that was supposed to help small business people who need smal heavy duty trucks and they gave huge tax breaks. That's why they make so many so big.
