Child is relentlessly bullied because her name is Isis. [View all]

A 14-year-old girl’s message to her bullies at school is going viral. The seventh grader has undergone constant tormenting and harassment from her peers because her first name is Isis.

“I have people come up to me and say why are you killing us Americans? I’m an American, too, how are you going to say that,” Isis says. It doesn’t take very much sleuthing to know that the young girl is entirely innocent in the matter. As Shakespeare said, “A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” meaning names are just personal labels that don’t define us or our character. Why should one little girl have to answer for the actions of a cruel organization, when it’s all just a bizarre coincidence?

I bet you the school does nothing to stop it.

There is a video the girl made. I don't tear up easily. But, I feel for her. I got it fore being the only Jew in a hick town.
