(7,911 posts)I enjoy music, and I have no desire to ruin that enjoyment by passing judgement and being a snob about what's "good" music and what's "bad" music. I just enjoy music. I enjoy Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Opera, Big Band, Jazz, Dixieland, Barbershop Quartet, Rock of all kinds from Abba to Guns and Roses to Pink Floyd to Chicago to Metalica, and every flavor in every direction from there. A couple evenings ago I got excited when I found some new Rudy Vallee recordings I hadn't heard before. Hell, I even get a kick out of Tiny Tim singing Tiptoe Through the Tulips. And yes, I drink whichever brand of beer is on sale, and relish every sip. I would just a soon go to Taco Bell as to a fancy French restaurant, Although I assure you I will enjoy the everloving hell out of whichever place I go. I love life, and I love everything it has to offer, and I'm not about to diminish that enjoyment by being fussy and snooty about music, beer, or food, and eliminating a great number of sources of genuine enjoyment.
Whether is Hotel California or Teressa Brewer belting out Put Another Nickel In, or anything at all by Frank Sinatra, I'm going to listen to it, and I'm going to enjoy the hell out of it. and I feel sorry for people who can't find as much enjoyment as I do in all that music.
