Update on last night's big Flint Water Crisis protest in Lansing, MI [View all]
It was a freezing 16 degrees but there was a big turn out. The crowd was very representative of Flints demographics. And there were a whole lot of college aged young people participating, which did my heart a whole lot of good. One local news outlet opened their story by saying that protestors Stormed the steps of the Capitol Building. More like we SWARMED the steps. This was a very loud, very enthusiastic and very, very peaceful protest. And a big shout out to our friends from Detroit who joined us. I'm a little hoarse, this morning, but it was well worth irritating my cold virus, to be there. I might have a few more photos, later today.

When we got there, the front steps of the State Capitol Building had been turned into a collection point for cases of water.

Beneath that collection was a cooler filled with water bottles filled with Flint water. Not for drinking, but for shaking angrily while chanting.

There were a lot of speakers, including Mark Shauer, who ran against Snyder in 2014.

The sky was crystal clear, the air was freezing, but the crowd was on fire!

There were even people who were so hard core, they brought torches and pitchforks! The pitchforks are kind of hard to pick out, but believe me, they were there!
