(3,447 posts)...a reaction from people that there is something wrong for there to be so much wrong. Why then is anyone surprised when, upon finding out that things are truly and well messed up, they don't think that voting more of the same people in is a good idea? I understand it's disappointing that your son wants Trump (dear God help us), and I totally sympathize. But this is pretty much something to be expected.
Think of it like this, from HIS point of view. He's seeing the equivalent of a McDonald's store with two cooks who keep continuously failing to make a simple Big Mac. Our suggestion to him is that maybe the cooks should change places. He thinks perhaps McDonald's should hire employees who will do the work they were hired to do. He's not being unreasonable, even if his candidate is.
Edit: Something about this post almost kept me from hitting Reply, but now I catch what it is. No good summation. I guess my point is that you haven't failed with him; rather, he's following the right procedure of thought, but he has bad inputs. But with sound procedure, the rest can be fixed. IE...he's not hopeless! Have heart!
