(82,383 posts)I'm not sure. The plan I have has no such large deductible. If I made a lot more money, I would be paying what it is worth. If they don't get a subsidy, they make enough to pay it which is how I would feel is I made that much. The subsidies are based on budgets - the federal government has statistics on how much is poverty level, how much is cost of living, so it's doubtful that the subsidy isn't going to make it affordable for anyone. That's the whole point. (Affordable Care Act) I just don't see how he failed to get a good plan in Delaware. Unless he just doesn't want to pay for it. That's the problem with the ACA for some is that it makes them be in that market. Which is the sensible thing to do, but there were always people who would rather go without insurance and spend the money on other things. Until something goes wrong with their health.
