(45,806 posts)actually put you in the lower income sector? I guess you don't think $1,500 a month is a lot if you make $50,000 a year, but add to that $1,000/mo rent, food, utilities (no his rent does not include utilities), a car payment on a USED car, and taxes taken out of your pay, that doesn't leave you money to take your wife to dinner once in a while, maybe go to a movie.
I'm sorry, that just too much money to pay for HC. Not when other countries include it in their taxes. It's not just because he's my son. I say that about EVEYONE who has to pay such high premiums. If it were for some high end HC, like guaranteed no deductibles, no copays, always immediate care, I could understand, but there aren't other options that he's found. The $1,500 & the deductible is the best he could do. I can understand why some decide to go without health care. The cost is crazy, and if you don't own a house, or any valuable cars, why not? He doesn't look at it that way, and neither do I, but I can't fault him for blaming Obamacare & Obama.
If you have any suggestion on how to find a better deal, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!
